September 18, Fineko/abc.az. Some media reported that the Masazir Lake, located on the territory of the Absheron district, has been contaminated with sewage and various wastes.

ABC.AZ reports that the General Prosecutor’s Office, together with the Ministry of Ecology & Natural Resources, distributed the information.

The GPO leadership took control of this issue and instructed the Department of Enforcement outside of Criminal Prosecution to undertake the case for consideration.

The Department’s reps together with the employees of the Absheron District Prosecutor's Office, specialists of the MENR and water operator Azersu conducted an inspection of the territory.

"The investigation of the causes and conditions of the current ecological state of the mentioned lake continues. The results will be reported to the public later," the statement reads.
