Baku-Khirdalan rail passenger service resumes operation

January 28, Fineko/abc.az. A new railway bridge has been put into operation on Khirdalan Circle, and freight trains are currently running on the bridge, ABC.AZ was informed at Azerbaijan Railways (ADY).

The restoration of passenger traffic is expected after the renewal of the contact network.

Work is ongoing on the reconstruction and capital repair of contact network of Bash-Keshla station of electrified railway line Baku-Khirdalan-Sumgait.

The contact network is being upgraded in connection with the transfer of the Baku - Boyuk-Kesik railway section from direct current to alternating current.
