Number of economically active people in Azerbaijan exceeds 5 million

May 21, Fineko/abc.az. According to preliminary data, as of 1 May 2021 the quantity of economically active people totaled 5.264 million people.

ABC.AZ informs that this is stated in the monthly report of the State Statistics Committee.

According to the report, 4.898 million people are employed and 365,500 are unemployed. As of 1 April of this year the number of employees reached 1.679 million people, including 915,300 people in the state sector of the economy and 764,400 people in the non–state sector.

More than 33,000 people are employed in the oil & gas sector of the economy and 1.646 million people are employed in the non–oil sector.
