Azerbaijan numbers more than 5 million economically active people

June 14, Fineko/abc.az. According to preliminary data, as of 1 June 2021 the number of economically active people amounted to 5.268 million people, including 4.908 million employed and 360,600 (or 6.8%) unemployed persons, ABC.AZ was informed at the State Statistics Committee.

As of 1 May 2021 the number of employees reached 1.678 million people, including 913,600 people in the public sector of the economy and 764,800 people in the non–state sector.

32,700 people were employed in the oil and gas sector of the economy and 1.645 million in the non–oil sector.
