Price of bread in Georgia to rise

June 22, Fineko/abc.az. Bread prices are expected to increase by 5-7 tetri in Georgia, ABC.AZ reports citing Malkhaz Dolidze, the director of the Association of Producers of Bakery Products of Georgia.

According to Dolidze, the 6-month subsidy program of the government expires at the end of this month, and the entrepreneurs themselves will decide on the prices.

Dolidze noted that the prices of flour at the world markets and in Georgia have decreased: "I believe the decision to cancel the subsidy is correct, since the subsidy is an aid, and it cannot be systematic."

In Georgia, the price of bread produced at the factory is 60 tetri - 1 lari, depending on the weight.
