New project: trains to run to Mahmudlu station of Jabrayil district

January 25, Fineko/abc.az. Construction work on the first stage of the Horadiz-Aghbend railway project (an important section of the Zangezur Corridor) has already been finished by 70%, ABC.AZ was informed at Azerbaijan Railways (ADY).

According to the working group on transport, communications and high technologies at the inter-administrative center of the coordination headquarters for the centralized solution of issues in the liberated territories, 23 km of rails have been laid to the Mahmudlu station of Jabrayil district.

The length of the Horadiz-Aghbend railway line is 110.4 km. Construction works are carried out in 3 stages. The first stage is 30 km, covering the stations of Goradiz, Marjanli, Mahmudlu, the second stage is 55 km, covering the stations of Sultanli, Gumlag, and the third stage is 25.4 km, covering the stations of Minjivan, Bartaz and Agbend.

The project envisages construction of 8 stations, 3 tunnels, 41 bridges, 3 galleries, 4 overpasses and about 300 artificial engineering structures.

Completion of all works within the project is scheduled for 2023.
