Russian billionaires lost $28 bn for Ukrainian crisis

ABC.AZ reports that the fall in stock indices due to the geopolitical risks that have arisen between the Kremlin and Kiev has also affected Russian businessmen.

From the end of December 2021 to January 2022, the total wealth of 104 Russians included in the Forbes list decreased by $27.9 bn.

The welfare of 76 of them has reduced since the end of December. The main owners of Novatek and Sibur, Leonid Mikhelson and Gennady Timchenko, Federation Council’s member Suleiman Kerimov, Severstal’s head Alexey Mordashov, head of SUEK and Eurochem Andrey Melnichenko, Norilsk Nickel’s head Vladimir Potanin lost more than others. In relative terms, Arrival’s founder Denis Sverdlov faced the biggest losses - the assessment of his condition decreased almost by 50% for December 2021.
