13:15 - 7.04.2022

April 7, Fineko/abc.az. German Economy Minister Robert Habeck stated last month that the country had cut coal imports from Russia by at least half.

ABC.AZ reports that the minister said that he would not be against EU’s decision to stop importing fuel from the country.

At that, according to the new plan announced yesterday by the EU, coal imports from Russia will decrease in the next three months.

The German minister said in an interview with Habeck that over the past 4 weeks, coal imports from Russia have almost halved.

Habeck said: "But tomorrow, the complete cessation of coal imports may become a big problem. We have completed the difficult part of the work, and now we are ready. Therefore, we do not oppose the embargo," he said.

Answering the question about when the import of coal will end completely, Habeck noted that the issue of the date will be discussed with the EU.
