Sberbank and VTB look for investors for sale of subsidiaries in Kazakhstan

May 11, Fineko/abc.az. Sberbank and VTB are looking for investors to sell their subsidiaries in Kazakhstan.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Russian press that when potential new owners of banks are found, the Kazakhstan Agency for Regulation & Development of the Financial Market will help them in reaching a decision by the U.S. authorities to lift sanctions against banks.

"We assure you that prohibited operations should not be carried out against individuals and organizations that have fallen under sanctions. Thus, we reduce the risk of secondary sanctions spreading to Kazakh banks," the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan stated.
