Oil reserves are depleted in Slovakia

May 23, Fineko/abc.az. Slovakia has oil reserves for 105 days and natural gas reserves for one month, ABC.AZ reports with quoting Slovak Oil & Gas Association’s executive director Richard Kvasnovsky.

He noted that Slovak underground gas storage facilities, the total volume of which is 3.5 bn cu m, are currently filled by 25%. Gas storage facilities are owned by commercial companies, which limits the ability of the state to influence their work.

Slovakia receives at least 85% of the consumed gas from Russia. In the future, gas supplies from the U.S., the Persian Gulf countries or Norway could be possible replacement for it. The country has already received two tankers with liquefied gas.
