France has renewed inflation record

16:44 - 30.06.2022

June 30, Fineko/abc.az. According to the French statistical office, inflation in June rose from 5.8% to 6.5% year-on-year due to a sharp increase in electricity and food costs.

While inflation increased by 0.8% on a monthly basis, the expectation was 0.9%.

France, the second largest economy in the eurozone, has become one of the countries that managed to curb inflation to some extent, spending about 25 bn euro to curb the growth of energy costs, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the foreign media.

But despite these efforts, consumer confidence and the economy have suffered from rising inflation.
