July 18, Fineko/abc.az. The Memorandum of Understanding on strategic cooperation in the energy sector has been signed between Azerbaijan and the EU.

ABC.AZ reports that at the event President Ilham Aliyev made a statement on some issues.

The head of state noted that the energy projects put forward by Azerbaijan and supported by the EU have completely changed the energy map of Europe.

"Our active cooperation in the energy sector is more than 15 years old. Today's memorandum is not the first document signed between us. We signed the Memorandum of Understanding in 2006 and a joint statement on the Southern Gas Corridor in 2011. Thus, we have a good history and good achievements. The energy projects put forward by Azerbaijan and supported by the EU, our partners, have completely changed the energy map of Europe."
