July 1, Fineko/abc.az. Kaspersky Lab has called on users of social networks in Azerbaijan to be vigilant in connection with the increase in cases of fraud in social networks.

ABC.AZ was informed at the company that recently there have been cases when fraudsters have lured people engaged in sales on social networks or ad sites to provide bank card data, motivating this with the desire to purchase goods from them and pay for it online.

"Phone scammers collect the necessary information about a potential victim in advance and actively use social engineering methods. For example, during a call, they can completely call the correct first name, last name and patronymic of the person they are calling. Attackers can use "legends" with the offer of a loan, the need to confirm data such as a password, bank card number, pin code, CVV code, or report allegedly blocking the card.

It is important to note that a real bank employee will not ask for codes and passwords in any case.
