Azerbaijan, Turkiye and Georgia signed an agreement on BTK

A meeting of the tripartite committee on customs issues between the governments of Azerbaijan, Turkiye and Georgia was held on August 18.

ABC.AZ reports that at the meeting, an “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Government of Georgia and the Government of the Republic of Turkiye on the exchange of primary information to facilitate transit customs procedures within the framework of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project” was signed.

On behalf of the Government of Azerbaijan, the agreement was signed by First Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Acting Chairman, Lieutenant General of the Customs Service Shahin Baghirov, on behalf of the Government of Turkiye - Deputy Minister of Trade of Turkiye, head of the Customs Department Ryza Tuna Turagay and on behalf of the Government of Georgia - General Director of the Georgia Revenue Services Levan Kakava.

The purpose of the agreement is to implement an electronic exchange of primary data to facilitate customs procedures for goods transported in transit within the framework of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project through the territory of all three states.
