September 9, Fineko/abc.az. A plane of Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) landed on a new runway at the Zangilan International Airport, the first airport in Eastern Zangezur. The flight time of the passenger plane on the Baku-Zangelan route was about 45 minutes, ABC.AZ reports, citing economist, MP Vugar Bayramov.

He stressed that the Zangilan International Airport to be put into operation this year, is one of the most important projects both economically and strategically: "Zangilan is an area with great economic and tourist potential. The products produced here will not only be used in our country, but also directly exported abroad. The Zangilan Airport will be integrated into the Zangezur Corridor to be put into operation in the near future."
