Taxpayers overpaid almost 2-fold their debts in Azerbaijan

The Accounts Chamber of Azerbaijan reports transfer of additional finances to the State Budget by the taxpayers.

The ACA conclusion on the Draft State Budget 2018 says that as of 1 July 2017 taxpayers owed AZN 1.17 bn to the State Budget (including the main debt of AZN 961.19 million, financial sanctions of AZN 168.4 million and penalties of AZN 42.7 million).

"At that, taxpayers overpaid AZN 2.14 bn. 66.1% (AZN 774.667 million) accounted for the private sector, 20.7% (AZN 242.35 million) for the public sector, 11.2% (AZN 131.79 million) for foreign and 2.0% (AZN 23.286 million) for joint ventures," the ACA conclusion says.

Out of AZN 1.17 bn of tax debt, 3.0% (AZN 34.7 million) accounted for debts of the oil sector and 97.0% (AZN 1.137 bn) for the nonoil sector.
