Tax benefits discussed at Milli Majlis

April 27, Fineko/abc.az. The Parliamentary Committee on Economic Policy, Industry & Entrepreneurship has conducted a regular meeting.

Committee’s chair Tayir Mirkishili informed that six issues were included in the agenda.

According to Mirkishili, the coronavirus pandemic negatively affects the economy of the whole world, including the economy of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is the country that has announced the largest package of economic support in the region.

The first questions on the agenda is the draft law on amendments to the Tax Code (1st reading) on a number of measures to reduce the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) and, as a result, sharp fluctuations in the world energy and stock markets on the economy, macroeconomic stability, employment and entrepreneurship in the country, prepared in accordance with the Action Plan approved by the Cabinet Ministers on 4 April 2020, in compliance with the Decree from 4 March 2020.

The proposed changes to the Code envisage tax incentives and vacations to business entities (including small and medium-sized businesses) operating in areas affected by the pandemic, covering a number of areas.
