PM: Strict quarantine regime to be applied this weekend

June 4, Fineko/abc.az. The Operational Staff has made a decision to apply strict quarantine regime in Baku, Sumgait, Ganja, Lankaran and the Absheron district from 00:00 on 6 June to 06:00 on 8 June, Prime Minister Ali Asadov stated.

"This regime envisages complete isolation," he stressed.

Within the framework of the regime, all trade and service facilities are completely prohibited, and public transport is suspended.

The PM stressed that similar tough measures may be taken in the districts of Azerbaijan, if the situation worsens there.

At the same time, on 5 June the working hours for state-run organizations and bodies were reduced to 2:00.

On weekends police agencies, municipal bodies, hospitals, and social services companies will work without restrictions. Cargo transportation by all types of transport, oil and gas production, storage and processing, TV and radio broadcasting, communications, land reclamation, production, electricity supply and supply, as well as activities of production enterprises that are uninterrupted are allowed.

Ali Asadov did not rule out that similar strict quarantine regime in large cities of the country may be applied on 13-15 June.
