September 24, Fineko/abc.az. International agency S&P Global Ratings has published a forecast for car sales this year against the background of the COVID-19 pandemic.

ABC.AZ reports that global passenger car sales are forecast to decline by 20% in 2020.

The Agency's forecast says that in the 2nd quarter of this year, there are signs of growth on the regions in the Chinese automobile market. Certain stabilization was observed on Europe and North America in July and August.

According to the Agency's forecast for 2021-22, the global car sales will increase by 7%. So, the car sales in the U.S. will decrease by 20-22% and will increase by 13-15% in 2021. As for Europe, the car sales are expected to decline by 20-25% in 2020 and increase by 8-10% in 2021.
