March 28, Fineko/abc.az. American corporation Apple has lowered its forecast for the production of iPhone SE smartphones and Earpods headphones in connection with the situation around Ukraine and the imposition of sanctions against the Russian Federation because of a special military operation, ABC.AZ reports with reference to Japanese newspaper Nikkei.

According to sources of the publication, among suppliers the production of the iPhone SE is planned to be reduced by about 20% (2-3 million) compared to the original plan. The release of AirPods is expected to decrease by 10 million units this year.

The sanctions disrupted supply chains, and also negatively affected the demand for electronics. In addition, there is shortage of semiconductors on the market, and, most likely, it may worsen. Another factor in the decline in production was the desire to reduce the stocks of finished products accumulated in warehouses.
