Russia’s international reserves grew by $3.8 bn in a week

December 9, Fineko/abc.az. The international reserves of the Russian Federation as of 2 December amounted to $571.3 bn against $568.8 bn as of 25 November 2022. 

ABC.AZ reports that such data at the end of the reporting dates are brought on the website of the Bank of Russia.
Thus, Russian reserves increased by $3.8 bn. The indicator increased by 0.7% over the week "under the influence of positive revaluation", the regulator said in a comment. A week earlier, a decrease was recorded - by 3%.

Over Jan-Nov 2022, reserves decreased by $63.3 bn, which is almost twice the increase for entire 2021 ($34.85 bn). In 2020, Russia’s international reserves added about $41.4 bn after an increase of $85.9 bn in 2019. As of 18 February 2022, a record volume of Russian reserves was regiestered in the entire history - $643.2 bn.
More than half of the Russian reserves are now frozen due to sanctions (about $300 bn, according to the Central Bank). The head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina, has repeatedly stated the intention of the Russian Federation to sue in connection with the blocking of Russian reserves and the preparation of appropriate lawsuits by the regulator.
In July 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law allowing the secrecy of information about Russia's gold and foreign exchange reserves.
