Azerbaijan starts exporting onions to Georgia and Ukraine, and to export beef to Qatar

February 3, Fineko/abc.az. Agricultural Procurement & Supply OJSC has published export statistics.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to APS that negotiations are already underway about exports to Pakistan and South Korea. Two kinds of products have already been exported to Nigeria. The organization informed that, despite the proximity of Ukraine to Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan’s export indicators to Ukraine are low: "From this angle, the Ukrainian market is a country with great potential for us, and we exported grapes, tomatoes and garlic to this country. In addition, training courses were organized for the onion farmers in the Barda, Agdam, and Agjabedi districts and the garlic farmers in Guba-Khachmaz and Agsu districts on the preparation, storing, and packaging of agricultural products for export.

Farmers were informed about potential export markets for these products, logistics channels, export certificates and customs documentation. Support was provided to farmers in exporting garlic and onions to the markets of Georgia and Ukraine. In addition, with the support of local farmers in the Guba-Khachmaz region, trainings were held on the preparation, packaging, customs documentation and export of cherries to new markets in such countries as Nigeria and the UAE. Meetings were conducted with farmers in connection with the export of produced beef to Qatar. In addition, with the support of local farmers, chicken meat produced in Hajigabul district was exported to the UAE. Training sessions were arranged on preparation, packaging, customs documentation and shipment of products for export to new Arab markets."
