Bank BTB’s interest income decreased by 4%

October 22, Fineko/abc.az. BTB Bank announced the results of the third quarter of 2021.

According to the report, Bank's interest income for 9 months of 2021 decreased by AZN 860,000 or about 4% to AZN 18.87 million.

Almost all of the interest income came from loans. In the same period of last year Bank BTB, in addition to loans given to customers, also earned about AZN 2.4 million from loans given to financial institutions. But this year this point has sharply reduced.

Bank's interest expenses increased by AZN 1.12 million or 11% up to AZN 11.5 million during this period. The cause of the growth is the increase in interests paid to customers on bank deposits. In the first 9 months of this year Bank BTB paid AZN 8.5 million to its clients on deposits (AZN 2 million more against Jan-Sept 2020). As a result, bank's net interest income declined more than by AZN 2 million to AZN 7.37 million for the first 9 months.
