October 14, Fineko/abc.az. The post-conflict situation develops in different ways. In September, just a month ago, clashes took place in the area of the Azerbaijani-Armenian border. The reasons for these clashes are obvious – terror against Azerbaijan continues, first of all, mine terror and sniper terror.

ABC.AZ informs that President Ilham Aliyev made this statement during his speech at the Astana meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State.

After the end of the 2nd Karabakh War more than 250 Azerbaijani citizens either died or were seriously maimed as a result of detonation of mines, which were laid mainly during the occupation. But at the same time, we discovered 1,400 anti-personnel mines produced by Armenia, which were laid in 2021 near the border with Lachin district. The roads that led from one Azerbaijani military position to another were also mined. The clashes lasted, the active phase lasted a maximum of 8 hours. Azerbaijan had no intention of occupying the territory of Armenia, as some may believe. Not a single city, not a single village was occupied.

The president stressed that as a result of the mediation activity of the Russian side, the clashes were stopped.
