January 18, Fineko/abc.az. Vaccination against Covid-19 infection starts in Azerbaijan today.

ABC.AZ reports that Azerbaijan has purchased 4 million doses of Chinese-made Sinovac vaccine for this purpose. One person will be given two doses of the vaccine. The second dose of the vaccine will be made 21 days after the first dose.

Vaccination will be carried out in two stages:

At the first stage, health workers, persons over 65 years of age and personnel involved in anti-epidemic measures by law enforcement agencies will be vaccinated.

The second stage of vaccination will cover a group of citizens at high risk from a medical point of view:

- persons with chronic respiratory diseases, hemodialysis, diabetes, obesity;

- persons aged 50 years and older who have at least one chronic disease;

- employees of the education and social security sector who permanently reside in social institutions, employees of the ASAN Xidmət and DOST centers, public transport sectors, operators and providers of telecommunications services, employees of the postal and banking sectors who are in direct contact with the population;

- working under conditions of high risk (employees of vital areas for the functioning of society – national and regional security, justice, finance, etc).
