Azerbaijan’s water operator Azersu finishes a water supply project in Astara city

May 30, Fineko/abc.az. National water operator Azersu has completed a larger part of the project on reconstruction of the water supply system of the city of Astara.

Azersu reports that the project is implemented with the support of the Islamic Development Bank within the framework of the National Water Supply & Sewerage Program in Six Districts.

"The project is designed with the prospect of development until 2035 and implies the improvement of water supply and sewerage services for 28,500 water consumers," Azersu said.

Work within the project has been carried out since 2014, construction of the water network is ongoing. 102 km of water pipelines have been built and 112.8 km are under planning, water meters at the addresses installed. As a result of the construction of the main water pipeline, water supply will also be provided for 27 villages (73,000 water consumers) located along the water pipeline.
