Demand at currency auction decreased by 44.7%

October 27, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan has conducted a currency auction with the participation of the State Oil Fund.

According to the CBA, $37.3 million was sold at the currency auction on October 27, which is $30.1 million (44.66%) less than at the last auction. At the auction on October 25, the Central Bank sold $67.4 million worth of currency to banks.

"The demand from banks at the currency auction amounted to $37.3 million and was fully secured," the CBA said in a statement.

As a result of the auction, the weighted average exchange rate of the manat was formed at the level of 1.7000 AZN/USD.

In October 2022, banks purchased currencies for $322.1 million at currency auctions, which is 30.78% less than in September 2022 and 40.34% less than in October 2021.
