July 31, Fineko/abc.az. In the 1st half of 2019 the banks of Azerbaijan paid interests on customer deposits in the amount of AZN 187.8 million, says the monthly report of the Financial Market Supervision Authority.

According to the report, interest payments on deposits decreased slightly compared with the 2018 same term. Thus, in the 1st half of 2018 the banks paid interests on deposits for AZN 189.8 million. As of 30 June 2019 the total deposits in banks (except financial institutions) amounted to AZN 18.8 bn, including deposits of individuals for AZN 8.633 bn and deposits of legal entities AZN 10.197 bn. During the same period, banks had deposits of financial institutions in the amount of AZN 1.38 bn.
