October 24, Fineko/abc.az. The energy sector is currently experiencing the period of rapid development.

ABC.AZ reports that the statement was made by Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov at the International Energy Charter Forum in Baku.

He noted that the future of the world depends more on energy and less on carbon: "Azerbaijan, which is always open for innovations, tries to take all-round approach towards energy issues. Important steps are being taken on environmental and energy efficiency. Currently, Azerbaijan plays an important role in the energy supply of many European countries. Significant steps are being taken to develop further public utilities and energy sector. Of course, there is a process of entering a new stage and increasing competitiveness in the energy sector."
