Change in poverty line is expected in Europe and Central Asia – Details

October 7, Fineko/abc.az. Poverty is expected to increase in all countries in the region as a result of the economic downturn caused by the pandemic in 2020, ABC.AZ informs with reference to World Bank’s report on the economic situation in the region of Europe and Central Asia.

According to the WB report, if $3.20 a day is taken as the poverty line, another 2.2 million people could end up below it.

With the poverty line in high- and middle-income countries at $5.50 a day, the increase in poverty can be observed among up to 6 million people.
