Oil cheapens, and Brent is at $50.64 a barrel

December 16, Fineko/abc.az. In Wednesday’s trading the oil prices are slightly lowering after their rise the day before up to the highest figure for over 9 months.

By 9:30 am, at the London ICE Futures Exchange the price of February’s Brent crude futures fell by $0.12 (0.24%) to $50.64 per barrel. At the end of trading on 15 December 15 the Brent futures for February rose in price by $0.47 (0.94%) up to the highest since 4 March - $50.76 a barrel.

By 9:30 am, at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) the WTI oil futures for January decreased in price by $0.09 (0.19%) to $47.53 per barrel. At the end of trading on 15 December the WTI oil futures for January grew by $0.63 (1.34%) up to the highest since 26 February - $47.62 per barrel.

The data from the American Petroleum Institute (API) showed an increase in oil stocks in the U.S. last week by 1.97 million barrels.
