Oil rises in price, and Brent is at $51.54 a barrel

December 17, Fineko/abc.az. Prices for oil of standard grades continued rising in Thursday’s trading after the U.S. Department of Energy had published the data about the decline in oil stocks in the country last week.

By 9:10 am, at the London ICE Futures Exchange the price of February’s Brent crude futures grew by $0.46 (0.9%) up to $51.54 per barrel. At the end of trading on 16 December the Brent futures for February increased in price by $0.32 (0.63%) up to $51.08 per barrel.

By 9:10 am, at the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX), WTI oil futures for January rose in price by $0.46 (0.96%) up to $48.28 per barrel. At the end of trading on 16 December the WTI oil futures for January grew by $0.20 (0.42%) up to $47.82 per barrel.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, commercial oil stocks in the country last week decreased by 3.14 million barrels.
