January 26, Fineko/abc.az. President Ilham Aliyev has received Rashad Nabiyev on the occasion of his appointment as the Minister of Transport, Communications & High Technologies.

ABC.AZ reports that during the reception the head of state touched upon the theme of state of the airports and noted that the Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku is a five-star airport.

"There are about 10 such of them in the world. And in the CIS, the Heydar Aliyev International Airport has been in the 1st place for many years. Airports built on my instructions in other cities greatly enhance our transport potential. In recent years, 7 airports have been built, 6 of which have an international status and can receive all types of aircraft, including the heaviest transport aircraft. As you know, the construction of a new international airport has begun in Fizuli, and a second international airport will be built on the liberated lands – on the territory of either Lachin or Kelbajar districts," the president said.
