New version of driver's license introduced

February 22, Fineko/abc.az. Starting from this year Azerbaijan is to issue a new kind of driver's license.

ABC.AZ reports that the new driver's license meets the requirements of international standard ISO/IEC 7810 Certificates - Physical Characteristics for driving motorcycles, ATVs, tricycles, cars, trams and trolleybuses.

Drivers are issued certificates of categories and subcategories A, A1, B, B1, C, C1, D, D1, BE, CE, DE, C1E, D1E, trams and trolleybuses.

The new ID card contains a contactless readable electronic chip with size of 85.60 mm x 53.98 mm.
