April 26, Fineko/abc.az. "Azerbaijan intends to ensure sustainable peace and security in the region,” ABC.AZ reports citing Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev as saying this during his video-format speech at the 77th session of the UN Economic & Social Commission for Asia & the Pacific.

The head of state noted that Azerbaijan has made an important contribution to the implementation of regional communication projects, such as the East-West, North-South, and North-West transport corridors:

"We’re currently working over the Zangezur Transport Corridor to become an integral part of the East-West corridor connecting Asia with Europe through the territory of Azerbaijan. This corridor will strengthen Azerbaijan's position as a transport and logistics center of Eurasia. I invite partner countries from the Asia-Pacific region to consider the potential of this regional project."
