April 22, Fineko/abc.az. "Unfortunately, even today, high-ranking officials in Armenia are still talking about the Minsk Group. I think it's in vain, it doesn't make sense. The Minsk Group was actually paralyzed in 2019."

ABC.AZ informs that President Ilham Aliyev stated this during his speech at the 5th Congress of Azerbaijanis of the World.

The head of state noted that this group, which received a mandate in 1992 to resolve this issue, has not achieved any results in fact.

"If you look at the history and actions of this group, consider the proposals put forward by it, you can see again that this group was created not to solve the issue, but to perpetuate the occupation. Armenian lobbying groups have a great influence in the Minsk Group co-chair countries, which is why there has been no result of this group over these 28 years. A few months ago, even before the Russian-Ukrainian war, I was asked what the Minsk Group would do. I said that their 30th anniversary is in 2022. They will hold an anniversary, and then retire. But after the start of the Russian-Ukrainian war, they did not even have the opportunity to hold an anniversary," President Aliyev stressed.
