Oil price rises, and Brent is at $79.47 a barrel

January 9, Fineko/abc.az. Prices for oil of benchmark grades are increasing in Monday’s trading after decline of over 8% at the end of last week.

The price of March Brent crude futures at the London ICE Futures Exchange grew by $0.90 (1.15%) up to $79.47 per barrel by 09:25 am. Following the trading on 6 January, Brent crude futures for March fell by $0.12 (0.15%) to $78.57 per barrel.

By 09:25 am, the price of WTI crude oil futures for February on the electronic trading of the New York Mercantile Exchange (NYMEX) rose by $0.93 (1.26%) up to $74.70 per barrel. Following the trading on 6 January, the value of February futures for WTI oil increased by $0.10 (0.14%) up to $73.77 per barrel.

At the end of last week, Brent crude oil fell by 8.54% and WTI by 8.09%.
