IBM expects to replace about 8,000 employees and their

May 3, Fineko/abc.az. IBM Corporation will suspend for 5 years the hiring of employees whose functions can be performed by artificial intelligence, ABC.AZ quotes corporation’s CEO Arvind Krishna.

According to Krishna, artificial intelligence can easily cope with routine tasks that are now performed by some office specialists who are not directly related to company's products. He said that there are about 26,000 such employees at IBM.

"I can easily imagine how 30% of this number can be easily replaced by artificial intelligence and automation in a five-year perspective," IBM’s CEO stated.

Thus, about 7,800 people may fall under the reduction.
