Azerbaijan to raise minimum size of labor pensions from March

February 14, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is to increase the minimum size of pensions.

Labour & Social Protection Minister Sahil Babayev has stated that additional AZN 139 million will be allocated in 2019 to increase the minimum amount of pensions and indexation of pension benefits.

"From 1 March minimum size of labor pensions will grow by 38.5% from 116 manats (from 80 manats on a number of categories) up to 160 manats," the minister said.

According to Babayev, increase of minimum pension will cover totally 233,000 pensioners, including 140,000 citizens receiving disability pension.
