Azerbaijani leader has received a WB delegation

December 18, Fineko/abc.az. Today, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Keiko Honda, executive vice president and CEO of the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) of the World Bank Group.

During the meeting President Aliyev stated that Azerbaijani economy has entered into the period of stabilization in 2017.

"Stabilization of the economy of Azerbaijan has been observed this year. This year the non-oil sector growth made up 2.5%, non-oil industrial production more than 3%, and agriculture over 4%. Although the decline in oil prices has had a negative impact on GDP, the share of the non-oil sector in Azerbaijan's GDP is 70%," the country’s president said.

He added that commissioning of the Southern Gas Corridor, extension of the Contract of the Century on the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli oilfield block until 2050, successful implementation of large regional projects create conditions for positive assessment of the prospects of Azerbaijan’s economic growth.

The sides stressed successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and MIGA and exchanged views on the prospects of further cooperation.
