November 26, Fineko/abc.az. On 26 November the State Agency for Mandatory Health Insurance submitted to the government the proposals for application of MHI in the country in 2020.  

ABC.AZ informs that in order to cope with lower risks in the transition to MHI, prepare medical institutions and the population for this process, as well as taking into account the coverage of reforms, the introduction of a new funding mechanism in medical institutions, the Agency proposes to implement four stages of MHI application in Azerbaijan during 2020.

According to the proposal, the first phase of the MHA will be applied in 20 districts for Jan-Mar, including the city of Sheki, Guba, Gusar, Khachmaz, Shabran, Siyazan, Khizi, Shemakha, Ismayilli, Agsu, Gobustan, Balaken, Zagatala, Gakh, Oguz, Gabala, Goychay, Ujar, Zardab and Kurdamir districts.
Currently, in the administrative regions to be covered by the pilot project (Mingachevir city, Yevlakh and Agdash districts), introduction of the MHI system will begin from 1 January 2020. At the initial stage, 23.82% of the population will be provided with medical services.
