Monthly MHI fee to be charged from this April

13:20 - 14.02.2020

February 14, Fineko/abc.az. The government undertakes the main financial burden of applying the mandatory health insurance system (MHI).

ABC.AZ reports that the above-said statement was made by Shukur Eyvazov, the head of the Department for Work with Regional Centers of the State Agency for Mandatory Medical Insurance.

Eyvazov noted that the government undertook the main financial burden for the application of the MHI system.

"In Azerbaijan the State Budget will pay insurance contributions for persons under the age of 18 years, persons under the age of 23 years who receive vocational education, secondary special education or full-time education in higher education institutions, pensioners, persons entitled to social benefits, and family members who receive targeted state social assistance. Starting from 1 April 2020 only a working citizen of Azerbaijan will be charged for MHI. That is, if we take into account that the minimum monthly salary is 250 manats, then the monthly insurance payment will be 10 manats. There will be no difference between medical services that will be received by persons who pay insurance contributions and medical services to citizens whose insurance premiums will be paid by the government”, Eyvazov emphasized.
