December 24, Fineko/abc.az. The enemy believed that after we took the southern part of Lachin district, we would go to Shusha from this side.

ABC.AZ reports that President Ilham Aliyev made the above-said statement during his visit to Gubadli. He noted that “we also knew that the enemy was waiting for us there”.

"We went to Shusha in a different way, we went on a path where they were not waiting for us. They still can't believe how our heroic soldiers and officers, having passed through those mountains, gorges, forests, came to Shusha and liberated Shusha from occupation. They were waiting for us from here, as well as in the direction of Girmizi-Bazar village of Khojavend district. And we went to Shusha in a different way. Going to Susa, we have freed several villages, including villages Signag, Chanakhchi, and Dashalti. The Gubadli operation was of great importance. As after Gubadli we liberated the city of Shusha from occupation. On 25 October Gubadli was liberated, and on 8 November the city of Shusha was liberated. Thus, the enemy was forced to surrender,” President Aliyev said.
