December 9, Fineko/abc.az. American e-commerce giant Amazon has been fined for more than 1 bn euro in Italy.

ABC.AZ reports that this decision was made by country’s antimonopoly market regulator in connection with the violation of Article 102 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. It is aimed at preventing abuse by companies that occupy a dominant position in the market.

According to the regulator, Amazon took advantage of "an absolute dominant position in the Italian market".

This allowed it to develop and promote its own delivery service, thereby harming other services operating in the logistics sector in the e-commerce market.
