Azerbaijan starts exporting gas from Turkmenistan through Iran

January 5, Fineko/abc.az. "Since 3 January we have started receiving 4.5 million cu m of gas per day as part of gas exchange Turkmenistan, Iran and Azerbaijan," ABC.AZ reports citing Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oji.

He noted that the implementation of the Gas Exchange Agreement signed by the presidents of Iran, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in Ashgabat has begun.

"We receive 4.5 million cu m of gas daily in the east of the country and supply the same amount to Azerbaijan in the northeast of Iran," the minister said.

He added that the volumes of exchanged gas have increased pressure and stability in the gas network for use in the northeast of Iran.
