July 18, Fineko/abc.az. The Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan jointly with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) is planning a pilot project in the field of solar energy.

The Ministry of Energy informs that with ADB’s support it is planned to realize a pilot project - "Technical support & knowledge sharing on development of a system of floating solar panels".

"A system of three photovoltaic panels with capacity of 100 kW each will be created on the Beyuk-Shor Lake," the Ministry reported.

The project also includes creation of business models to encourage private sector participation in the installation of solar panels, strengthening national capacity in this area and the application of modern norms and principles.

"The Cabinet Ministers approved the implementation of this project. The ADB will select a consulting company on a tender basis. Work on the project will begin after completion of the tender procedure," the Ministry said in a statement.
