Elman Rustamov: Chief thing is that insurers would not shift problems to state

12:59 - 10.02.2020

February 10, Fineko/abc.az. Central Bank’s chairman Elman Rustamov said in a statement to journalists on 9 February that the situation in the insurance market of Azerbaijan is generally stable, but there may be some minor problems.

ABC.AZ reports that the chief banker pointed out that assessment has not yet been carried out in the insurance sector, but it is planned in the near future.

According to Rustamov, there is stability in the insurance sector, but small problems are possible: "In 2020 we’ll try to revive the insurance market. We’ll work to ensure that the insurance sector covers the risks of both business and the public. This will lead to the development of the market and reduction of risks. The main condition set by the government is that insurance companies would solve problems independently and would not pass them on to the state."
