December 12, Fineko/abc.az. Amid the high inflation and weakening economic development in the world as a result of the energy crisis caused by the Russian-Ukrainian war, many companies, particularly the U.S. and Europe, began to reduce staff and stop hiring new employees.

ABC.AZ reports that this year 946 technology companies laid off 148,431 employees.

According to Crunchbase, in the U.S. alone, more than 90,000 people have lost their jobs in 946 technology companies. Such companies as Amazon and Meta are also on the decline, as revenue forecasts for Q3 of 2022 did not materialize. E–commerce giant Amazon plans to lay off 3% of its employees worldwide – 10,000 people. This will be the largest number of layoffs since 1994.
Chime Financial, engaged in electronic banking, announced its readiness to lay off 12% of employees (160 people), and Cisco Systems, whose number of employees is 83,000, - 5%.
