Chief infectious disease specialist: If rate of infections decreases, tight quarantine can be relaxed

July 17, Fineko/abc.az. The quarantine regime is expected to be extended for another 2 weeks. The current situation dictates this.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to news agency Modern that this was reported by country’s chief infectious disease specialist Jalal Isayev.

He noted that although there is some stabilization in the number of infections, this does not mean that the virus has completely disappeared:

"Yesterday, for the first time, the number of infections fell from 500 to 493. The main thing is to achieve this stabilization in the following days. If the decrease in the number of infections is significant, we can talk about easing the strict quarantine.”

He added that in order to support the army in the past days, collecting the population for the action will allegedly lead to an increase in the number of infections.
