A new way to treat coronavirus under testing in Russia

11:53 - 24.04.2020

April 24, Fineko/abc.az. The Moscow-based N.V.Sklifosovsky Research Institute of Emergency Medicine began to treat patients infected with coronavirus in a new way.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the foreign media that here Russian scientists are trying to use helium for the treatment of COVID-19 coronavirus. This gas can prevent oxygen starvation in a short time, while improving the diffusion of oxygen through the alveolar membrane by increasing blood flow in the lungs, reducing airway resistance, and relaxing smooth muscles.

According to information, the patient breathes for 15 minutes with helium oxide heated up to 92 degrees. Specialists say that this procedure will not be uncomfortable for the patient, but rather creates the effect of a sauna.

If successful, this method will be widely used.
